I have EKs from 1813,1870,1914, even a few TR Eks but
I just can't seem to bring myself to buy a "57er.

Not that's there anything wrong with them but they are
    just not for me.

Chopperman, i can understand that, they are not for everybody at this moment in time...i felt like that coming up 20 years ago when i let a nice early 57' K & Q Knights Cross go for next to nothing ! now worth around a $1000 !....but the early ones especially marked, are as good as if not better than WW2 examples... i like the fusion of Third Reich size and Imperial design, (i was never comfortable with the Hakenkruez!).

Hi, This my first EK2 - don't know much about them but would appreciate any comments. Cross is magnetic. Photos were taken with flash on so it is shinier than real life. It has no makers mark on the ring. Thanks

You have a couple of nice, period crosses and a great picture..

I can't afford but maybe one or two crosses a year, But my camera is paid for. So when I have the urge to buy a cross I
can't afford, I try to find new ways to photograph the crosses
    I already have.

    ----Again, Nice picture.

    Hi, This my first EK2
It's a good place to start. Just be aware-----They are addicting

Your cross looks like a nice original. The core looks very pitted
which makes me think that it was once rusted and the cleaned
and repainted or oiled. Kind of hard to tell from the photo but no
matter what, It's a good first cross.

Hi Croix de Guerre, you've done a nice job with the photo's. I think I'll have to use some backing photos. Looking at mine now they seem a bit 'clinical'!!! I must back up Gregs 'warning' about collecting EK's. I starting buying a couple, for examples, and now certainly have more than two!!! But joking aside if you're after something interesting/fascinating to collect you won't go far wrong collecting EK's, Cheers, Richard.

    Nothing wrong with that cross
It's a bit beat up, but that gives it charactor. Looks like
    a real verteran of WW1.
