Yeah, the convex 800 has a lovely feel to it. Just enough wear I was really chuffed when I bought it. £32 from ebay!!! From a private seller (not a dealer) & very badly photographed. I took a gamble & for once got lucky. Just proves there are still some bargains to be had.

I think you did real well for £32.

My case is typical for the early cases. Dark maroon with a
    silver embossed Ek.

Not the best picture but it gives you the idea---

Hi Greg, thanks for showing the lid. I'll have to keep an eye open for a spare one for my FR.

    Cheers,

    Richard.

Hi, I thought I'd post up my last EK related bits.
First up a 'sweet heart' EK badge in silver & enamel. I have seen a picture of a girl in WW1 wearing one on a long ribbon around her neck.

I think this is a regimental/state lapel badge; but I'm not too sure. It's silvered brass & enamels & marked on the back "Kriegs Fursorge Der Stadt Jclau & Ceschutzt"

    WOW Beautiful Pic's and display's.
What is the EK with the oakleaf with a 25 on it mean?

The oak leaf attachment is officialy called the 1895 "Jubiläumsspange". It was an attachment authorized by
to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the 1870 Franco-
Prussian war. It could be worn by anyone who had earned
the iron cross during that war.

While I do not have anything in the way of sweetheart pins
or veterans organization pins, I do have some miniatures.
Most are buttonhole devices or stickpins that would be worn
by a vet on his civilian clothes.

    Some Eks.
