    Two very nice examples.
The first on is made by Wagner & Sohn. Even without the WS makers mark, they can be identified by the hinge and pin set-up. The second one we just call part of the "square punch" family. We don't know for sure who made them however the core details are almost identical
to the "CD 800" marked crosses made by Carl Dillenius of Pforzheim.

    Hope this helps.

and again-------a couple of great crosses.

Thanks, Steve, Greg and Pammy !

I was pretty sure this was a Wagner and Sohn, but did not know who made
the 'square punch' cross, although I have seen this mark before.

Will post more as crosses and funds become available............!
    Regards,

    Steve.

Hallo Guys, If I can get these loaded these are what I have in my start of collecting EK's. Of all, I've been doubtful of the EKI. Both EKII are marked, but I'm not able to get a clear shot of the mark. The center two medals are the centenial medal of IR23 von Winterfeldt. Would anyone know what type of ribbon or attachment it had originally?

Hi Anton, I'm sorry to confirm that the EK1 is a fake. It looks like a one piece Polish copy commonly available on ebay. The rest look fine original examples. I'm not sure about the ribbons on the other medals, Cheers, Richard.

    Anton,
You are off to great start.
Richard is correct, The 1st class unfortunately is a fake.

    darren,
The marked 2nd class is one that
there has been some debate about. It's a perfctly good, period 1914 cross but the makers
is not an "A". Some believe it to be a mismarked "M" others an "IVI". Personally, I believe
the later. Why would a company capable of produceing fine quality iron cross, use a stamp
that was too large. (We have never seen one where the legs of the "IVI" are actually
joined to form a "M") They are always seperated. Which ever way it's supposed to be,
    It's still a nice cross.

The other mark in question is "L W".
