Donkihotis7: Guess I'll have to settle for 99% complete then Finding a identifiable photography will be nigh impossible I think... I very much like your set, very nice EKI Mine (and yours) looks as if it has endured a thing or two, but this is in my opinion often more desirable than mint crosses than not.

Chopperman: I understand you are the EK expert here and I was wondering if my EKI is an older variant of Wagner & Sohn than I usually see - having the oval backplate under the hinge and the seemingly handwritten makers mark? Reading this thread it is fascinating to read all your insights into these beautiful crosses. They are certainly more 'rich' and 'charming' than TR crosses aren't they? Although the TR ones absolutely have their moments too...

Thank you all for your comments. Glad you like it There are so many wonderful crosses in this thread!

    Kenneth,
Thank you for the compliment however I am certainly no expert.

WS had several 3 or 4 variations in the cores they used and the style of hardware used.
I can not say for sure if yours would considered an early one or not.

Another one. This is marked ''800D''. The number ''800'' is marked on the obverse of the loop whilst the ''D'' on the reverse. Is this how it should be?

That's a nice cross. I like the very sharp details on the core. (the crown , date , ect.)
Is this a full sized cross? The heavy beading on the frame reminds me of some of
    the Prinzen sized (34mm) crosses.

    again-------Good looking cross.

Hey Greg, Thanks i like it too Yes it is full size. How about the markings? Is it normal to have the ''800'' on the one side of the ring and the ''D'' on the other?

Crosses are not normally marked on both sides of the ring. However it's not completely unheard of
either. However with almost 4 million 1914 2nd class crosses being awarded, most anything is possible.

I am not 100% sure that mark is actually a "D". The only D marked cross I have a photo of has a very
sharply defined mark and the cross itself looks more like those offered by "KO".
