I prefer crosses that show their history but I felt I needed one
example of a mint cross so I chose one made by B.H. Mayer.
It is a Imperial cross made during the TR period and has the
frosted frame found on ww2 crosses.

Here is where it all began. This is one of the "Holy Grails" of
Imperial iron crosses.
1813 Ek2 with a piece of original ribbon.

Super , that one is!!
I liked the others as well!!
Another pillowback cross made by AWS. This one is the more
typical single post screwback (missing backing plate) The
cool thing about this one is the all brass frame.

The 1813 EK2 Is very interesting and great to see. I didn't know that they were made that way.
Is there an 1813 EK1 pic coming soon???????
Thanks again for these pic's.
I am affraid not I had the oppertunity to get the 1st. class
from the same group my 2nd class came from but it was well
above what I could afford.
I am also still looking for my first 1870 1st. class. I have seen
a few I almost went for but on my small budget I can't justify
the expense right now.

Hi Chaps, I thought I'd add my latest EK2 to the thread. It's a nice quality example maker marked 'R' on the ring for Alfred Rösner of Dresden (sorry for the poor pic of the ring). Cheers, Richard.
