Re: Imperial Eks
JT,
That's a great looking set.
I really like these combimations.

Re: Imperial Eks
My EK2 original, on a display frame surrounded by reproductions. The Prussian Pilot's Badge on top right has now gone off to be silver plated.

Re: Imperial Eks
I would leave it as is and not have it plated, were it mine. But thats just me.
You can of course do with your badge as you please ; - )

Re: Imperial Eks
Scout, it's a reproduction but from looking at photos the original Prussian Pilot's Badge was highly polished so the aim of having this repro silver plated is so that it would look like it used to. But I've got a second repro which is staying as it is.
In just about every contemporary photo, the PPB always looks bright and polished.

Re: Imperial Eks
In that case, plate away!
I considered that option, but didnt want to tap dance on anybodys toes.
That badge is a favourite of mine. I like them a lot and were beginning to warm to the idea of acutally buying a genuine one, but then I saw the prices....
Great pic of von Richthofen.
What a sad ending; having the plane ripped apart by souvenir hunters and even his own personal effects stolen from the corpse.
