My new 1870 EK2 arrived today!! I got better pics of it then the ones when it was for sale and yes it is 3 piece. On the right arm edge on the 1870 side theres a ding inwards but not horribly bad andalso on the suspension ring there a dent either a maker mark stamp or it hit something (pictured in last pic)

Thanks for adding it to the thread.
That cross looks to be a nice original early "Type A". I would bet that the ribbon is a newer
replacement that that does not detract from the cross at all.

Hi people. I wanted to share my EKI. Screwback and vaulted. A small marking, kind of a star, on the obverse screw button and an L on the reverse. No other marks visible. Any chances someone can spot a possible maker? third reich era? thanks.

It pays to have friends. I could not find a match to this one in any
of my files so I sent some emails and with the owner's permission,
I posted this one on another forum.

This cross is thought to be made by "C F Zimmerman" .
The blued sheetmetal core, the "closed 4" date combined that particular
style of crown all point to Zimmerman.

    Neat piece
I have never seen a clasp like that before. That's something new on my
    list to look for.
I think it´s clasp for Saxe Coburg Gotha medal. Check this http://gmic.co.uk/index.php/topic/51...r-with-swords/
