I think the Red Baron hotrod goes good with the Flyer's cross.

Gentlemen...my latest Imperial EK I, an early 1960's replacement award from St u L, three piece, magnetic core. This piece utilizes parts from the "1939" EK I in their 1957 award range...pin,catch,back plate and frame being the same, only the core is obviously different. I believe St u L offered a small selection of Imperial awards up to the late 1970's as replacements for veterans, including the "Pour le Merite", one of these being owned by Ernst Junger, he of "Storm of steel" fame......Still, this 1960's piece is as legitimate a replacement as the 1920's,30's & 40's made versions.
    Prost ! Steve.

That is a nice looking cross and yes, it is a perfectly legitimate replacement cross.
I have suspected they were made by S/L but never knew for sure.

Nice EK1 Steve. They look so good when they're either fairly new (as in your latest one), or sympathetically cleaned.

Here is a new one for me.
A cross marked HBG. It is in pretty good shape, with a nice dark patina.

This is the only one from this maker that I have come across with a silver stamp.

    Gentlemen,

I thought before purchasing one, that I'd post it here and see what the member's opinion is on this EKI
