Imperial fencing scars

Fencing scars appear, at one time, to have been a badge of honour among some German men. I invite you to post yours, to kick start the thread I contribute my only examples.

Richard, thanks for showing the photo, (makes him look very sinister ! like a "Bond" villian !) I must confess that I dont much about this "Tradition"... and that I have no photographs to contribute to this thread, however I am under the impression that it was not a "military" custom, but more a student thing ! when sabre duelling ! if anyone can enlighten me on this peculiar German trait, I am all ears !

This is still being done today in Germany and Austria.

Excellent link, both my photos seem to confirm the practice of having the left side of the face take the punishment. It all seems slightly bonkers, I'd prefer a small honourable nick to having half my face slashed. I would like to see some other photos.
