I am looking to add my first imperial German Lion head sword to my collection. I found this one available near me but the seller cannot read the maker. I have been searching for hours to find this type but cannot seem to find it outright. The backstrap appears closest to Alcoso ones I have found but just seems off in design and definition. I also have concerns based on the lion's face. The nose doesn't seem as pointed as other examples and the strong eye socket also concerns me. But this may be due to the angle of the pic. What do you think? Is this a known variation?

    Much appreciated
