    Default Imperial M16 NJ62 Reissue

The latest addition to my Imperial German Collection an M16 re-issue with steel liner band. Produced by the United Nickelworks factory in Schwerte during WW1 and stamped NJ62, later during WW2 the manufacturer became known as NS.

This quite hard to find helmet has been depot refurbished and hand painted before being re-issued with the shell size stencilled in the rear skirt. The shell is fitted with a white chromed tanned sheepskin liner complete with original cushions. With it’s nice original chinstrap and named to ‘Pell’ what initially attracted me to this helmet was the beautiful brush strokes that cover the entire shell.

These photos are the sellers photos and I think they do it more justice than mine currently do

    Enjoy!
    Andy

Beautiful! I´m myself searching for a nice M16 so that i, atleast partly, complete the evolution of german helmet models in my collection. You have a great example there, congrats!

Very nice Andy!! .... I have only a shell ( that I picked up in 1988 at Pokolbin in the hunter valley at an antique shop for $50 )
....wife almost divorced me after a year of marriage!!!

Almost restored it with a liner a couple of times but couldn't bring myself to mess with it.

    Cheers, Dan

So you’re hiding over on here I see. Haha.

Funny. I looked at pics first. Then went back to read description. And I hate to say “Great minds think alike” BUT I first noticed the nice paint job as well. And I bought a TR Reissue strictly for that same reason once. What great shape this is in Andy. It’s awesome. And dare I say ... I’m a little Jelly. I don’t collect WW1 but that is not because I don’t like that area of history (we’ve discussed b4) and seeing this guy has me saying hmmm. Love the script to the name as well. All around a great helmet. Nice job mate

The stamping is very light - I'm leaning toward ET66 as the marking but really hard to tell.

    Thanks Zach.

I know Pell is a German name but not sure how rare it actually is.

    I have a 60, 62, 64, 66 but need to get 68 and 70 although those are pretty rare.

Very very very nice example. I've always loved these white liners.

    Congrats
