    Default Imperial miniatures

While being a collector of Iron crosses, I naturally came across
the occassional miniature Ek and other miniature awards. I
found myself drawen to these small beauties. They are still
not very expensive ( but that is changing) and they don't
    take up much room.

My favorites are the knofloch orden. (buttonhole awards).
This first picture is of some buttonawards. Some Eks as well
    as some others mixed in----

Hi Chaps, that was good timing Greg, as this arrived in the post today.
Direct from Germany for IMO a bargain at £22 (a couple others went for £90 plus on ebay) As you can see it's a 'sweetheart' Iron Cross badge. It's about 3cm square & marked DRGM on the body as well as the 800 silver mark on the body & backing plate. The only down side is that it's missing a couple of it's fold over prongs.

    Cheers,

    Richard.

While Imperial Iron Cross stickpins are pretty common ( and
heavily faked ) Miniature Ek2s with ribbons are fairly uncommon
and non-combat versions are hard to find.

Here are three examples--The smallest of the three is 14mm
    on a 11.5mm ribbon.

As long as I am showing 2nd class minis on ribbons, here are two more. One is a 1870 and is marked 800 silver. The other is
a nicely enameled version in a silver frame.

    Another 1870. This time a buttonhole 1870 Ek2 with 25 year
    oakleaf spange.
