Default Imperial Parade Mount - EKII and Military Merit Cross (Bavaria)

Picked this up today. I'm starting to like WW1 more and more.

An EKII and 3rd Class Bavarian Military Merit Cross (with wartime ribbon?).

Thought it was pretty interesting. It's not unique or rare (not too familiar with the Bavarian Military Merit Cross) but I liked it.

    Overall in nice shape.

    Any and all comments welcome.

    A nice combination Michael!
Have you checked the ring on the EK II for a maker's mark?

    Already trying to Ralph.

The ribbon is very tight to the mount with almost no slack. Have to see what I can do. But at the moment, I want to be careful.

I'm posting a few other items I bought and saw so once I'm done I will try again.

    Nice looking set
It would be interesting to see if the cross is marked.
If I had to guess, I would say that this is one of the Wagner variants.
If it is marked, I would suspect "WS", "WuS" or "W&S"

    Greg,

Been poking around for the last 10 minutes. I don't want to damage the ribbon. Whoever created this mount 100 years ago, really put it on tight!

Keep a lookout here. Will repost as soon as I'm successful!

    OK. Good news/Bad news.

Good news #1 is that I was successful in getting the ring out from behind the ribbon. Bad news is that my digital microscope is due to arrive tomorrow which would give a clear shot.

The Good news #2 is that under my loop I can clearly see WS. I've taken some pictures but not very clear. But it does say WS.

Any info would help on this varient

    Thanks!

    Michael
