The cross posted is a good cross. This style of cross is believed
to have been made during the 1920s or 30s and were purchased
by those wanting dupilcate or replacement crosses.
They are silver plate over a yellow base metal (probably "Tombac")
The Kreigsmarine thing is just a myth. There was never a brass
core "rust proof " Ek made specificly for the navy. Imperial
crosses can be found made in a variety of different materials.

looks great! the navy didn't wear the cross out at sea to see if it would rust, they wore it at home on leave on their dress uniform
