Hi, I recently purchased this WW1 enlisted mans pickelhaub at a local flea market...it seems 100% correct to me (opinions are welcome) , yet I'm trying to figure out where it was manufactured ....it's stamped what seems to be RA .IV or maybe BA . Good original item.

    It is Prussian.

The stamp is BA iV. Please see here:

    Here's your maker mark:

"A. Pb. Hoffmann--Berlin" ink stamped inside the helmet shell.

    Maker is: Adolph Hoffmann --Berlin

As far as cleaning it goes, I would simply use a clean dry terrycloth bath cloth or hand towel to lightly rub off any excess dust and grime. Other than that, it looks good.

Congratulations on a very nice flea market find!

    Best Regards,

    Alan
