Thanks for the comments, glad you guys like it. I would have been certain it was a 4 but I can see why it could be a 2 as well. I did also see the numbers stamped into the dome as well, though they are hard to make out, can just see a 503 and maybe an R before that.
Do love the look of this one with my other WW2 lids, just oozes character.
Nuno, as the others have said I wouldn't move on that one either, and as you said its not cheap to. Better lookers around for that type of money.

Volksjager, if your dome stamping/heat lot number starts withan "R" then the batch of steel that your helmet was stamped from came out of the rolling mills at "Stahlwerk Röchling in Volkingen".
