m16 camo?

Article about: Hi does this m16 stand a chance or a total fake,i like it but obviously need my good members sound opinions please......

    I'd pass on this one, postwar painted and the liner looks to be a reproduction.

    Looks good to me . Just a few concerns: The touch up job on the lines (as previously pointed out), the liner could very well be a replacement (as it is in really nice shape, but there is not wear indicative of that on the helmet)-a quick way to check, lift under the pads if it is horse hair or a felt like material bound in a linen type package then it is period, but if it is just leather re-enforced pads then it is later. Hopefully this helps. The price is too steep. You can pick up nice original non touch up paint jobs for $500-$650. IMHO a nice piece but there is better, for the money. This is probably a $400 helmet with the touch up. Good hunting!
