M16 Helmet PAINTED DECALS

Hey guys, this helmet has been offered up to me for sale. The seller doesn't know a whole lot about it. Is it M16 or M17? The stamping mark on the inside rim is "K64" Chinstrap is missing. The helmet looks weird in the fact there appears to be an orange paint color under the brown? not sure what to think. all comments are welcome and thanks for the help

Spot on Ade....... once a nice "J. & H. Kerkmann" of Ahlen/Westfalen size 64 made M16, but alas no longer
