    Default M16 - Si 62 , M17 Liner w/ White Leather Pads

Here is one of 2 near excellent M16's that arrived this week, both manufactured by Si. This one is a size 62, nearly complete, with a steel banded M17 liner, all three white leather pads, and the original draw string, but missing the chin strap and one of the pillows. It is very clean, and a fairly good representative example of a helmet that is becoming harder and harder to find in this condition. Hope you like it. Cheers, Jim G.

Here are 3 more shots in natural light that show the true color of the piece. Cheers, Jim G.

Jim, a stunning virtually complete M17 stahlhelm ! thanks for showing....as you say, difficult to find these days, for the benefit of casual readers of this thread, the mm "Si" is for "Eisenhuette Silesia" of Paruschowitz in Oberschlesien, they made shells in size 62 and 66. I have a feeling that your helmets heat lot number will start with a "Bi" for the rolling mills at Oberschlesien/Bismarckhutte. Prost ! Steve.

Steve, The other M16 that arrived this week was an Si 66, complete with chin strap, in almost as good shape, the paint is just a grade or 2 below this one. I will try to post that one soon. Cheers, Jim G.

Here are the 2 side by side, the Si 62 and the bigger brother, the Si 66. They seem to go together, don't they? Cheers, Jim G.
