This is a rather hard to find W66... Hermann Weissenburger & Co., Stuttgart-Cannstatt, size 66. The camo is also a not so common pattern...
This helmet was found with a replacement drawstring (just a thin cord) and the chinstrap is not original to this helmet...
The writing on the neckguard is hard to decifre... Anyone has a clue?

    Hi,

Long time since Ive visited. Looks a nice helmet! The manufacturer is one of the rarer ones. ET being the most common. Looks 100% from the pictures and a nice interior. The writing would seem to be a name and then 11? L? number? So name and unit but any more I caanot help! I have a few with names and unit in similar ink and they are so hard to read which is a shame. I have bought two new German WW1 helmets over Xmas period...a field grey one to a MG unit and an 1918 Cammo with carbine strap and is an absolute gem.

They are getting so much more costly now and the feild grey seem to be the price of cammos a few years ago.

And I am not referring to some of the rubbish one sees on e B!

    Regards TRT
