Found this one on the web a little while ago, I was initially attracted to it because it is a mail home hemet and I have long been partial to them. Although it was missing one liner pad,the chinstrap, and one of the two remaining pads was hanging by a thread, I noticed the inverse maker's mark and that sealed the deal for me, as it is a rare occurrence on these.

M17 Fulda size 62 with "FB' makers mark with a mail home label. I personally really like the paint drips and striations in the steel. There is a faded ink stamp under one of the remaining liner pads. Unless I'm mistaken, there seems to be a name written on the liner band that starts with a "W", but have not deciphered it yet . Does anyone else see it?

There are two mail home labels, one over the other. The top one has an initialed acceptance stamp and some other interesting information.

I hope you guys like it.

    Wow, great piece of history!

I think it's like this maybe, can make out an R and or a B maybe, pretty faint, virtually 100 years old...

    Flipped it, enhanced it slightly.

    Thanks,
I always liked mail home helmets and their associated history......via the postal service and military mail system some of the associated history is preserved with the helmets when the label is legible. That and the fact that some soldier slapped a label and some stamps on these and the helmets made their way to their home from the European theater, is extremely cool - IMO
