Looks good usualy no decals arnt faked as they dont fetch as much money... usualy but lets see what Doug says.
Danny, a totally original M1917 steel helmet from one of the more common makers "ET" which stands for "Eisenhuettenwerke Thale A.G., Thale" in the Harz region, they made steel helmets in sizes 60 to 68, yours is size 64...unfortunately it is typical for these M17 helmets to shed their liner pads, as they are crimped onto the metal liner band and with age the leather tends to rot through the perforations and they fall off !.....the number inside the crown of the helmet is a heat lot number and specifies the steel rolling mill where the batch of steel came..ET made helmets usually have steel that was milled by "Stahlwerk Röchling,Volkingen" the number stating with an "R"....
Danny can you confirm does the number start with a "B" or an "R" ? my old eyes can not quite make it out....
Prost ! Steve.
I like it ;-)
nice helmet.
A very nice lid!...
Nice Lid, however I find it interesting that so many people here ask for our help, but will not join and be members. The experts here can save people $100s with their knowledge, I think that those that ask for help and get it, should JOIN the forum.
Just My Thoughts.

Dean, there are regular contributors to this forum with over 1,000+ postings, and they are STILL only registered members. Now I don't give a toss about anyone having a go at me if they disagree with my comments, after all that's what happens on forums. But when it comes from a regular member who pays bu**er-all to the upkeep of the forum, that's a different matter!
By the way... I like the helmet!
