    Hello,

I have bought a machine gun belt of the German Army of the first world war, but I am not sure if it is the real belt for the German MG08.

Could somebody please help me out there?

    Thanks in advance

Looks a lot like a Vickers belt to me. But then this style of cloth belt seems to crop up everywhere, and was used in both World Wars. The Russian Maxim M1910 uses one of similar design, as do a great many other machine guns of various size.
Whenever I see a heavy amount of brass, I can't help but think British. We seemed to be very fond of the stuff, using it for the buttplates and oil bottles of Lee Enfield rifles. But then if that was the case with this one, I'd expect to see W.D. markings, or a Broad Arrow at the very least.
