Model 1905 Jäger zu Pferde Metalhelme
Good Morning Folks!
I'm being offered the Prussian M1905. All appears to be legit based on photos of authentic pieces I've reviewed, however being a novice to this particular model of Prussian headgear, I thought it best to run it by the forum.
Any input, good or bad, would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Eric...a very nice and IMO original M1905 Jager zu Pferde (mounted light infantry/rifles) metalhelm.....dated 1913 to Jäger-zu-Pferd-Regt. Nr.7 garrisoned at Trier and part of IX Armee Korps, this helmet is marked to the 4th Squadron of that Regiment. It is a great helmet that may prove to settle a long running difference of opinion...some references give the 7th Regiment as wearing a blackened steel helmet (as this is) with silver fittings and tomback (Brass) chinscales..while others state all tomback fittings, this helmet displays silver fittings with tomback chinscales, it must prove a point to many scholars of Imperial mounted head dress, a great find......a rare helmet.
The Jäger-zu-Pferd were originally raised from "Meldareiter" mounted dispatch riders in the late 1890's.

I agree with Steve-it looks dead-on original and is an Excellent lobster tail! A Rare animal, for sure!

Gentlemen, thank you both for your help and confirmation of authenticty! I will be picking the helmet up tomorrow and will provide more detailed photos when time permits.

Well, the helmet is in hand and I was able to take some photos this morning. Once again, thanks for your help, gentlemen!

The blackened finish body is even more impressive in hand than the initial photos indicated. An Excellent helmet! Great pick up! That lobster tail would sit Quite nicely on my shelf Any day of the week!

Your newset of photos are far better than originally shown, and as per William,
it would also look good on my shelf - it's a fabulous helmet - Congrats.........!
