    Thumbs up mounted EK2

Hello, I checked out this cross and it looks different than many that I looked at and the other one that I have which isnt mounted. It is smaller than my other one, the core moves, and the crown, W, and year look different. I know there were many makers and variations of the cross but would just like some opinions on this one.
    Thanks
    John

It looks like a well woren but original piece. If the core moves it is a good sign, and there are much variants of the 1914 EKII out there, so small optical differences are normal. I have two pieces, they are also looking different from each other, and are proven as originals here in the forum.

    Perfectly fine cross
Plus having the big makers tag on the ribbon is a bonus.
Have you tried rotating the ribbon ring? You might find that this cross may
    be maker marked.

Looks like a nice Frakspange mounted EK2, meant to be worn on a civilian formal coat, a bit to the side of the lapel of the coat.

I'll tease you in a friendly manner by saying if you don't like it, I'll be more than happy to take it off your hands.

I have one of these Frakspange single mount EK2's in my collection. They are harder to find in this style mount than the typically seen military parade mounted single EK2's.

Congratulations on a very nice piece, and thanks for sharing it with us!

    Best Regards,

    Alan
