My First M16 Stahlhelm!!!!

Article about: Good start.

    Default My First M16 Stahlhelm!!!!

Hi All, I picked up this WW1 beauty for a great deal, its my first M16/17 and I just wanted to share it with you guys, it has some really nice original paint and a very unmessed with look, a solid shell with no dings or dents, just the way you want them, the liner is gone all but for one pad stuck to the shell, it has the metal band so technically its a M17, the maker is very faint but I picked up enough to see its a size 62, either SI or BF maker, I now own one example each of the evolution of german helmets from the Pickelhauben up to the M42, Hope you guys enjoy the pics!!!!!!!

Nice M17, with the bonus of the linerband and a pad. Congrats.

Very nice lid! I just got one myself same size and all, I don't have the liner for it though!

I like it, the paint is still in really good condition, with some cool combat wear to it.
A bit of a pity the liner has seen better days, but it doesn't detract from the helmet, and will display very well.

The one remaining liner pad is original but was glued on upside down by a previous owner!, we will file that under "what are people thinking" but anyway I was able to easily remove it and reattach it in the proper way, all the joys of collecting on a budget haha

These are super helmets and very iconic. I hate glued in liner pads. They drive me nuts.
