    Great sword, Kris. But I would say it does look like Latin.........

    I believe sometimes they are inscribed with prophetic sayings or verses,
    much like the "Me Fecit Solingen" (Solingen made me) of Germany,
    or dire warnings to people at the sharp end.

    Thanks guy's.
    No story behind them, just that they do come from an old collection, but I don't know who.
    The inscription could be latin, or a old European language, didn't toke the time to have a good look, I am still busy cleaning up my warehouse....

    HANS MOV then comes a M or a H... ME FECIT
    on both sides.
    I was hopping for a date.

    Just found out that thise would be HANS MOUM and he lived and worked indeed in SOLINGEN between 1600 and 1625 !!
