Hello again Stuka F. Thank you for the diagram explanations and it raises the question now, could the plate I have with this helmet be the rare plate indicated on that photo plate?

Thank you for weighing in Adler. I will definitely be looking for a chin strap if I cant find the original but I am sure I have the strap hardware somewhere. If not, I will purchase a replacement. What about the cord for the interior leather flaps of the liner? Should this be something I might need? Also, the cockades with this helmet, what do they indicate? Can you or anyone on the group, estimate a value for this helmet?

I think you should not worry to much about that liner cord...
For a price indication, you best do your own research a bit, this can varry depending on where you live and the way you want to sell it...

Like Adler said, we don't do price evaluations. To many factors involved.

    Hello all,

I just noticed a number on the neck guard of my helmet. With the helmet upside down, in the right corner of the guard, next to the helmet itself, is an ink stamped number "54". Does this number mean anything?

Plese send a private message if you are interested. Thank you all for the replies and the abundance of helpful information.
