Hello, I have recently purchased a pair of German binoculars, for a very cheap price in my opinion. I did some research, and I couldn't find a good price on them. I have seen them go from $50 - $250. Most of the ones I have seen were in terrible condition, with hardly any original paint left on them, but they did include a case for most. I do not own the case, but mine are in better condition than most I have seen, in my opinion of course. So any thoughts on these? Plus it would be cool to know a bit more about them, Thanks! My WW1 German Feldglas08 binoculars... average price range? My WW1 German Feldglas08 binoculars... average price range? My WW1 German Feldglas08 binoculars... average price range? My WW1 German Feldglas08 binoculars... average price range?

Thanks, but are you sure they are re painted? The wording would be hard to paint without mistake in my opinion, but of course I am not an expert, far from it in fact...so waht would have been the original paint?

It looks like the lens bodies (tubes?) have been repainted in a modern shade of green.
I think they were finished in black originally.

Also there is an area where the paint is brushed over one of these 'tubes'
    near the adjustable eye piece.

I kinda see it, but I don't see any other coating of paint under it...maybe the original paint was removed. Oh well, I got it for $10 so I am ok with it

Bargain price - Well done !

I usually see badly beaten up binos like this
    going for $80 to $100.............!

wow thank you. Would you happen to know any good websites that sell ww1-ww2 military items such as these binoculars? I hate going on Ebay, so many fakes there. Thank you again

The ones I've seen were all quite worn and the colour had darkened some,
so I guess that's what the 'nicer' types are finished in.

You can try The Collectors Guild, but they are a pricey site..........

thank you. I have also seen binoculars similar to mine that also come with a nice case, but finding someone that just sells the case will be impossible to find. I have seen some of the collectors guild items, and yes, they are rather pricey. Maybe I will stick to ebay for now, I found a few great steals on it. But thanks
