    Hi all,

These medals are in with a lot of other misc WW2 German military items. I believe this is WW1, but I have no clue what each of these medals are since I'm not well versed in WW1. The second photo is an extension of the first. Any help is appreciated.

Dyzner...a rather nice little set of medals possibly from a WW1 Bavarian mountain trooper, medals, left to right, 1) Prussian War Aid medal 2) Bavarian Golden Anniversary medal Christmas 1918 issue 3) 1916 King Ludwig cross, another Bavarian medal. The attached homemade fob features a later "Eidelweiss" badge from the Third Reich period (WW1 versions were just the flower head with no stem).....the zinc token, I have no idea about ! good luck token ? To note is that the "Alpenkorps" was primarily a Bavarian Division, containing mountain troop battalions.....
    Prost ! Steve.

Hi Steve, you are correct on the good luck charm. Ullr was a Norse God.

    Cheers, Ade.

Ade, thanks for that...I believe it was quite common in the armies of the Third Reich for soldiers to have/keep good luck charms/tokens....in the end they needed them !
    Prost ! Steve.

Very nice group of medals. Unusual to see other bits and bobs hanging
from them, but it makes the set more unique, IMO.........!
