Need some help identifying and authenticating please!

I got this piece as part of a large group of badges, pins, and medals. I have looked through my reference books and online and can't find any reference to this particular pin. Any ideas?

Looks like a post WW1 Veterans Association member pin. Could be wrong. So best wait for others as well.

Someone should be able to shed more light on the identification of the regiment/unit (?) "D. EHEM. J.R."
