Is this normal for a german bayonet?
Hi,
Today a purchased a german "butcher" bayonet. I have noticed that on the blade there are what seems to be 2 different manufacturers markings on each side.
One being RICH A HERDER SOLINGEN and the other being H MUNDLOS AND CO MAGDEBURG. On the top of the blade is a crown, W, 17 and below that I cannot make out what it is. Could this indicate a replica or would it be normal to have two seemingly different manufacturers on the blade.
Apologies but I am unable to post photos. Any help would be very much appreciated!
Thankyou

One company made the blade and the other assembled it. As I haven't got access to my reference books I can't tell who did what.
Without photos it is difficult to judge, but the markings sound OK.

The other mark on the blade back is an inspection stamp.
And its a real one not a replica.

Perfect, thank you for the information.
