I would very much appreciate your thoughts on this camouflaged M17 Helmet

Very nice, other than the obvious wear on the liner, which for a 100 year old helmet is to be expected. I see nothing wrong with it.
I really like the helmet. I am not good with WWI chin straps but this one looks a little thick to me and I suspect it may be a very good repro. Otherwise the helmet and Camo paint look fine. Jim G.
I would say its the real deal. It has the patina I would expect, the three colours are the correct, green, yellow ochre and rust brown. Someone didn't listen to General Ludendorff's directive on the black separation lines which should "sharply separate the colours by finger wide black stripes". The black stripes are too thin. Chin strap a likely reproduction.
I'm a little concerned about the camo paint. In one photo it looks
like there is a spot where the green paint is over the rust and one rivet
looks like it has no rust or paint on it. Maybe it's just the photo / lighting
but I would not pay big money for it until I saw it "in hand"

I was addicted to the "Hokey-Pokey" but I've turned
myself around.
Looks fine from what I can see in the photos. Does look a bit glossy. Years of hands and fingers touching it? Or a slight waxing a long time ago? Or just glare from the lights?
Chinstrap does appear to be new.
To Jim's point on the thickness. I can't say much on them other than that I have a ww1 M16 camo with a dry and cracked strap but looks just as thick as this one.
"Please", Thank You" and proper manners appreciated
