'N' is for 'Neun', or if the mark is a 'Z', possibly 'Zeich'...............

Hi guys. No there is no other marking. Steve could be right though about the ''Z''. I didn't think of that.
Imperial EKs are very weird regarding their markings. I was reading a thread the other day were a mm like question mark was on the ring and no one knew about that EK. Others were suggesting that it was a ''7''.

Some makers were using letters and some others numbers.

Very seldom will you see an Imperial cross with a number for a makers mark.
Except of Carl Dillinius who combined his initials with the silver content (CD800)
Numbers did not come into play untill after the start of ww2. You can find
the occasional 1914 cross that was made during TR period with the TR style
    numbering system. Usually a 4 or L/52.
