    Default Original EK2?

I recently purchased this WW1 EK2. It measures to 42mm, the iron center is magnetic, and it is maker marked 'S-W'. My only concern is the lack of a clear seam on the edges of the silver frame that should be evident if the cross is 3-piece constructed. There is a very faint seem on the top edge of the cross, but it's pretty faint. Any suggestions or info is much appreciated!

Looks ok, might have been repainted at some point. But wait for the cross guys to comment.

Yeah, the paint is either in very good condition or I too believe it was likely repainted, thanks for the quick response!

No problem, hope she's a good one who has been well treated. Unlike the rest of us!

Cheers and welcome to the forum.

That is a perfectly good and original cross. Just the fact that it has a magnetic core
proves that it is 3 piece construction. Not all crosses have a well defined seem and
in my opinion the better made pieces have a less visible seem due to better soldering.

I also do not think it has been repainted. the earlier crosses were chemically blackened
which held up much much better than paint.

I think you have a very nice cross there.

Sometimes the core is loose within the frame.
Try to wiggle it and see if it moves. I happen
to like Sy & Wagner made crosses.........
    Regards,

I don't think the core is loose, but I can mess around with it later and I'll post if it is.

The core is still very secure and is not loose at all. The frames must have been soldered together very well.
