Damaged but certainly original.
The bolts that attach the spike base look wrong, somehow, though. They should be domed, if I recall right and attach inside with nuts?

This would be a great restoration project...but even the way it is, it's still an attractive display item...IF the price is right...
Btw, a "Please" or a "Thank You" goes a long way in this hobby.
cheers, Glenn
looks ok.
There's not much wrong with it that can't be put right with a bit of TLC. A nice helmet!
Not a bad helmet missing the strap, but not too bad if it is reasonable priced
Sorry if this would burst a bubble, but I see a lot wrong with this helmet:
- The helmet's body and liner is for enlisted men, yet the spike is an officer's model
- The rear spine is an officer's model and is attached with a wrong rivet/screw
- The helmet plate appears to be an officer's model due to the voided crown
- The trim of the front visor is loose and appears to be an officer's model
- The rivets for the spike are flat while they should be domed
- All metal parts seem to have other colors, but this might be due to the pictures...
- The helmet's body is dented on both sides
- The liner is loose at the back
- The kokarden are missing
- The chinstrap is missing
- The liner cord is missing
When you want to restore this helmet, you would need a lot of new parts. At the end it would cost more than buying a complete original one. If it costs just a few bucks and it would only be for display you can considder purchasing this parts helmet...
