Nice example of a WW I Wound Badge friend.
Very nice private purchase wound badge. Debate on when these were issued war time or post war.
I have a black and silver version myself.

Did someone apply gold paint to this badge.........?
Regards,
Steve.
Hi Steve
I think from my research that it is pretty obvious that in the last 90 years or so someone has thought to increase the value of the badge by spraying it gold.
What had me going was the overspray of the gold on the back of the badge..... Very peculiar
If it ever did turn out that this badge was an original black sprayed gold contemporary I am sure I could redo a better job!!!
