I just saw this Sturmbaon badge up on auction. The seller is flooding a Swedish site with all kinds of crap.
But I really like that they stamped it with RZM!!

It took about 1 minute and then someone placed a bid.

This junk just sold for 35 euro. The winner of the auction will now probably put this badge in his cabinet or other display.

Only now i see those great post. Can be that the owner of cigarette case (from Bremen) was in Austrohungarian army?? Certanly not!!
The 106 Sturmbatalion have 4 companies and was part of 106 Landsturm Division of Austrohungarian army.

Thank,s god that the fakers don,t read books!! The books and history is only for true collectors.

Just when you thought you'd seen it all, along comes a fake WW1-era badge with an RZM marking. Now that's beyond silly.

But I guess the fakers think everything is better with an RZM marking...
This is the point that covers the whole situation rather well from the viewpoint that a collector should always know what he is buying.

All of us have been caught at some point but this piece is not even plausible! Either the faker is as ill-informed as his victims or he has simply not bothered to try and produce something that has the appearance of an actual genuine item because he knows that some fool will fall for these "Hollywood specials".

Also, I feel the point about the authorities in just about every country taking no interest in what is a very real crime is a most valid one. They will persue someone for making fake football shirts to the detriment of multi-national corporations but not someone who really hurts a single collector who, even though he should know better, suffers greatly from his loss.

Couldn't have anything to do with politics could it?
