Please Help - WWI EK 2 - Authentic or Fake

Article about: Hello all, I would like to get your opinions about the authenticity of this EK 2. 44 mm x 44 mm. Definietly 3 piece construction, magnetic center plate. Suspention ring marked 3. Is this for

    Also--your cross is the smaller (normal) sized cross used
    before the TR period. That means that except in rare
    occasions, your makers mark will be a letter and NOT a
    number. Yours may possibly be a "S". However it is
    so poorly marked it might never be identified.

    Looks to me like an "S" in pictures 1 and 3 in post #8.

    Wildkatz22, with good clear photographs of the mark and correct measurements and description, I now know it to be of Imperial manufacture....I agree with Greg & Nick on the possibility of the "S" mark.....
    Try to be as clear and concise as possible with both narrative and photographic evidence, so that the most valued opinion can be sort and given.
