Article about: Has anyone seen an original Blue Max and did J. Godet & sons make these? Where do you find the maker marks and what are they worth?? How rare are Originals?? Does anyone have any picture

    Has anyone seen an original Blue Max and did J. Godet & sons make these? Where do you find the maker marks and what are they worth?? How rare are Originals??

    Hi John,

    The pour le merite is a fairly rare award although i believe there are a couple for sale on emedals at present. The value varies greatly dependant on a number of factors such as when the order was produced ( these were awarded and manufactured over quite an extended period) the base metal that the award was made from, whether or not it is attributed etc. I think there may be a previous thread regarding these somewhere on the forum. Worth doing a search anyway.

    I could have bought one for £450 when I was 15 years old.....But that kind of money was out of the question at the time...
