The helmet is in poor condition, but never messed with. The plate is original to the helmet, no extra holes in the leather helmet body. The neck flap came lose and the shellac layer is quiet damaged (cracked due to temperature and humidity changes).
No marks, what so ever on the inside.

    Still, a wonderful helmet.
I don't see Saxon haulbes very often.

Very nice Kris. I love the look. I keep on saying I have to add a Haub to my collection but helmets and awards always get in the way....one day I just have to focus and look for one! No collection should be without one.
"Please", Thank You" and proper manners appreciated

Agree. Even though my focus is TR Heer and Luftwaffe, I have one myself. You almost have to.

I love the Wappen on that.
The crack and crazing almost give it an art deco look.
Its appealing to the eyes even if it is not in the best shape.

    Thanks guy's.
Saxon militaria has a similar helmet plate for sale and it is qualified as "rare".
And indeed during my research I found 10 (Saxe!)reserve officer's plates for only one private /NCO plate.
I am quiet pleased with it.
Always looking for Belgian Congo stuff!
