He is spot on. It's a Prussian Cavalry saber engraved
to the Count Fritz Graf Haeseler 11th Ulan regiment.

Thanks for the info. Are these pretty common pieces? The double hinged guard, was that just personal preference? Should I oil this sword like an other one?
A private purchase sword for wear off duty by a Prussian cavalryman, there were different options in hilt style and blade decoration. Best Regards, Fred
