    Hello,

My mom found this for me at an antique store some time ago. I couldn't tell for sure from her pics if it looked OK, but the price was good, so I asked her to grab it. When she got it to me, I was a little worried about the weight of it. Compared to my other 1914 EK, its pretty light. Although to my eyes it looks like it could be legit. Also the ring mark appears to be an 800, and in my experience that's the silver content. If that's the case would it not be heavier? So, on to the experts... What do you guys think?

The cross looks good to me. I would guess
that this cross has a thin stamped sheetmetal
core while your other cross has a cast iron core.

    Hi Greg,
Is this why the detail of the date appears the way it does?

    Ralph,
I guess the only thing I see wrong with the date is that the
paint is coming off of it. Looks like there is some specks of
paint on the 4 and clinging desperately to the sides of the 4.
The other numbers are pretty much naked with only some
loose paint or dirt in the "O" of the 9.
