Medal for Merit in War, these were awarded to NCO's and enlisted men. I have 2 variants the original bronze version and the late war zinc. Nice size medals and both have the combatants ribbon.

I also have an officers version with crown, late war zinc version. Again on a combatants ribbon.
This was their state equivalent to the iron cross.

Congratulations Hagen, you have two great examples of the Medal for Merit in War of Saxe-Meiningen.
The model for officiers is one of my favorite among the decorations of Imperial Germany.
But I must admit that whenever I see your avatar, I feel envious, because I still like more the Medal of Merit with Swords from the former Princedom of Reuss.
Best regards.

Thank you TABSTABS1964, one of my favorites also.
