SG98 would like to say hello

Hi friends, this is my new arrived SG98. Never had one before! i really like it

But i have two questions, maybe you can answer them:

I would like to clean/protect the blade, what should i do? (I have Renaissance Wax and ballistol at home)

And second: can you tell me what the „3“ stamp on the bottom means?

A nice honest example of the S 98/05 n.A model with flashguard, acceptance mark of 1916, a good find. As for preservation, opinions vary but the Renaissance wax will be fine. Where on "the bottom" is the "3" mark?

I think the stylised "3" you are seeing is just a steel hardness marking made during its production.
