transissional WW1 amberg Gew98 1917 1920
i have a Gew98 that has 2 issiue dates one is 1917 the other is 1920 the first has the imperial seal above it and the othe is above that im pretty certin that its all origanal becaus every peice of metal has been stamped and the buttplate has the eagle stamped on it as well the stock is a gewher stock and it still has the lever shoulder sling
im not sure if i over payd thow becaus i saw another post that had one that loocl in worse condision but it said they thaught it was only worth around $200 US and i payed $400 US for mine i dont think it was a bad a deal becaus its in great condision and the bore is still really good

They are very original properly numberd, however they apear to have been removed from the stock at some time, and hit with an 80 grit bead blast of alum oxide to remove rust at some time. ie Not smooth with a nice blued finish. Money wise, I think your fine.
