    Default Trench knife/bayonet EB2

This trenchknife / bayonet was produced by Robert Klaas & Cie (see the manufacturers stamp of the 2 birds)... Most of these were produced by Franz Koeller & Cie, Solingen-Ohlings and Gottlieb Hammersfahr & Cie, Solingen.
I think it's a private purchase for a few reasons:
    1) there is no inspection stamp present.
    2) the leather of the strap is of finer quality than normal (mayby that's why it has a period repair...)
    3) there's a button hole at the back of the strap, which I think is not standard
Nevertheless it's a very rare item, certainly in the original color...

    Enjoy,

Hi Adler , i very much like trench knives and this is indeed an unusual example , also being a bayonet . Is this WW1 or WW11 era , as the blade looks to be WW1 . What rifle would it be matched with ? It`s a great looking piece ,

    cheers Al

It's WW1 Al... and it fits Gew 98, Kar 98,... same as a S98 would fit...

Sorry I didn't check this thread earlier.

I am not familiar with this style of trench knife at all. I have
a collection of misc. daggers and fighting knives and I would love
to add a ww1 German piece to my collection however all that
I have looked at have been the standard wood handle models.
