Paul, nice 1888 manufactured example ! and you have correctly identified the Regimentals, indeed the bayonet is marked to "Grenadier-Regt. Graf Kleist von Nollendorf (1.Westpreußisches) Nr.6" 1st Company, 299th weapon. This Regiment was garrisoned at Posen, being part of V Armee Korps. The scabbard however is marked to "4. Badisches Infanterie-Regt. Prinz Wilhelm Nr.112", 5th Company, 144th weapon. This Regiment being garrisoned at Mülhausen, and was part of XIV Armee Korps. It is not uncommon for mismatched bayonets and scabbards to appear as one....how they got that way is anyones guess !
Prost ! Steve.
Although miss-matched a very nice couple
Jean
Thanks for the info guys .Paul
