    A bit hard to decipher with the scratching, but I can make out the following:
    To Oberleutnant Ludemann from the Officer's Corps of the Fusilier Regiment Duke Karl Anton von Hohenzollern No.40

    Allow me just two corrections/additions:

    It's not "schenkenden", but "scheidenden" and the "Furs?" is "Fürst".

    It's a farewell gift of the regiment's officer corps made to a fellow officer who was leaving the unit.
