"The German Army is the perfectly adapted, perfectly running Machine. The difference is that the Germans are organised with a view to War...with the cold, hard, practical and business-like purpose of winning victories."

My great-grandfather and his brother were in Verdun during the war,But his brother did not come back from there and his body was never found.
I do not think my great-grandfather ever recovered from it.

There are many museums about the great war in Verdun. Almost every bunker is made in to a museum.
We only visited three museums: Fort de Douaumont, Memorial 14/18 Verdun and L'ouvrage de Villy-La-Ferté. There are many many more!
So Steve, if you ever decide to go; plan for a few days!
